Much Ado about nothing.

Happy New Year! It’s been a while since I wrote anything. I spent my time absorbing ideas from others. Without further ado here goes my thoughts,

Chances are you have heard this title before if you ever were required to study Shakespeare.  This was one of my favorites from the series of books that was written.

Much Ado about Nothing has a different meaning but I wanted to use the title literally.

The line has been drawn in the sand as it relates to the PS4 and Xbox One.

You might be wondering how so?

Well, the PS4 has Street Fighter 5 coming while Xbox One has the next installment of Tomb Raider.

Sure its been said that Tomb Raider is a timed exclusive but who really knows the truth?

I gotta say that I am glad that it is being published by Microsoft, maybe it will be advertised better.

Do you think there is a big deal being made about Tomb Raider or Street Fighter 5?

Are you taking a side in the sand as it relates to a specific console?

Starting From the Bottom

images (1)

Much like the song  “Started From the bottom”, we all have our starting points in life . Some start from the bottom others start from the top.

Some have silver spoons in their mouths, others have to fight for the spoon. Wherever you find yourself the great news is that you don’t have to stay there. The sky is the limit for either situation.

When you are starting from the bottom, be it financially, socially, or location wise you have to focus on the positives.  You have to take chances and risks that others might not agree with. I’m not saying do anything drastic, I am saying do something to climb from the bottom to the top.

As I mentioned in my last post, I talked about feelings. Those are very important in the process of transitioning. You must have the right mind set as it relates to progress. You  must believe in yourself first and be willing to wait if you have to.

If you feel that you will always be at the bottom you will. If you never do anything to leave the bottom, wherever that maybe, you will still be there.

One of the most important things is to remember that no matter what you do, you will be critized. You might make a mistake, you might do something that people never want to admit that they have ever had the audacity to do. You might do a good thing and it might be evil spoken of. Never let that stop you.

You can take from your time at the bottom. If your  bottom is lack of money and your working towards  that goal of being financially secure once you finally reach the top, your then able to help someone else.  Being a witness that because you start at the bottom you don’t have to stay there.

Much comes out of nothing, rather it be revelation, determination, new dreams, hopes, goals and ideas.

Don’t be discouraged when your at the bottom by people who pretend to be better than you. For they have something hide for all their need to eject their arrogance. It takes time to make progress as it s not a over night thing.

Always remember there is room at the top. That’s where I am going.

Who’s coming with me?

Did Internet Ruin The Party?

images (1)download

There used to be a time where gaming was difficult. Strategy guides were a given amongst the most avid gamer’s. If you didn’t want to spend the money on buying one you would borrow a friends or even go to the store and read it desperately trying to get past the part your stuck on.

Shhhh….. Just make sure you didn’t tell anyone that you were reading the magazine and not planning on buying it.

The Internet brought so much to gaming. It all started with cheats.  Cheat your way through the game why don’t you. Then came video game tutorials which totally put the print guides into an early grave. No longer would you have to read, all you had to do was watch.

With this change however, comes spoilers. Games today are often ruined before one even gets the chance to play it. If you are a member of any of the social networks you will see people talk about games often revealing there ending

Do you think the Internet has ruined the gaming party? What are your thoughts? Be sure to follow, share and comment.

A Game Changer

The power that we have in the gaming community is second to none.

For the longest time I wanted to talk about the fiasco that was the Mass Effect 3 ending.

I know that seems like generations ago now but the outrage and unity that was displayed caused a changed not only resulting in a different game ending but a new realm of possibilities.

I’m not going to get into the whole was it necessary argument, but I will say this that I didn’t beat the game.

Well I know you’re wondering why……….Ok well… here goes… I lost interest, though this game was fun it could not hold my attention.

Not only did this game cause controversy because of its ending but it also made headlines for allowing same sex couples and also for its sex scenes. I’ll start off by saying that I never progressed the relationship between my character and the others to see anything.

In current days, there is a big debate about gays in gaming and if the gaming community is ready for it. Gaming companies are even bragging about their games featuring gay characters and how they reflect that community.

I think it is a sign of the times that we are living in. I feel that these characters should be an option for those who would like to play as that character but they should not be forced on others.

Mass Effect 3 has set the standard for other games to follow as it is a somewhat an extension of real life relationship.

What are your thoughts about Mass Effect 3? What are your thoughts about the hot button topic that is being discussed these days such as gay characters in gaming?

ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of EnglishgamerUninhibited!!!!!!!

I know it’s been a while since I wrote anything but that is about to change.

This month marks the one year anniversary of this blog!

Last year this time I was just trying to establish a place that was different from all the other blogs. I had so many ideas in my head as it relates to life, gaming and literature that I had to get them out.

I never would have thought that this blog would have lasted this long and I am truly grateful.

I felt it was important to discuss various topics about gaming and literature.

As of late my posts have learned more towards video games however, I will eventually start talking about literature again. It’s amazing how so much could come from one idea.

The embrace that I felt from the blogging community was indescribable as I was welcomed with open arms.

This is a short post, what are your favorite topics of the past year on this blog? Why did you follow this blog? Would you recommend it to others? Be sure to share and comment and follow as always thanks!

Gaming and Religion

Sometimes I wonder if games the games that we play will send us half way to hell! Yes hell is real.

download (5) images (1)download (6) download (7)

Kill this, Stomp him, and Finish her, all these things make me think about how religion has apart if any, in the games that we play.

As a Christian, I look the Bible in which says not to kill but as a gamer in the games that I play killing is not an option, it’s a requirement.

I have encountered people who were changed mentally by their personal beliefs and religion to the point where the games that they played, they could no longer play. For example, Gears of War was suddenly too violent, Injustice Gods among Us, had the name of God speaking to many God, not just one.

The games began to conflict with their personal relationships as well. I think that gaming is a great hobby to have and should not be taken seriously as you are not committing the crimes and or actions on your own in real life.

Virtual gaming is just that, virtual. I don’t think that gaming should affect ones religion.  Where religion would affect our gaming is if you begin to imitate the actions that your characters are doing on screen in real life.

I believe there are consequences to our actions and the road that you take in life can lead you to your destination, the one that you choose, Heaven or Hell.

This is why I don’t think gaming should influence our behavior though, in my research I found that it does influence some.  I belief that with a balance of religion or some type of belief, one will stay clear from the influence of the characters on screen.  Not only religion but some type of moral and or standard will also stop one from engaging in negative behavior.

No More Life’s

It’s been a little while, but I’m back!

Just how precious is the life of a video game character you’re playing as?

Very precious. Life’s come few and plenty.  Even when you have collect all the rings, coins and spheres lives are hard to come by.  This makes me wonder, how long do you play a game? Do you play up until the point when you get stuck? Or do you play the game and take a break?

I’ve spoken often about the challenges I have had while playing Super Mario 3D Land, in which Mario would fall into the background to his immediate end. He would also lose his footing at the end of a jump sending him to hell down below.  This didn’t occur only once, but this happen continually, to the point where I assumed that Mario no longer wanted to cooperate for the sake of saving the Princess.  The moving stage was also something that made

Ok, so I shouldn’t say that he didn’t want to cooperate because it was all my doing however, he did die more than a few times. The cloud suit couldn’t even save him from wanting to fall off the cliff.  This made me question if I was going to continue to play the game or trade it in.

In this situation death did us part!  Have you given up on a difficult game after repeated deaths of a character?

The Next Gen Promise

images (1)

Remember E3  2013?  We were promised so much for the next generation. Eye popping graphics, powerful systems, and more features that weren’t possible the previous generation. In some ways we have gotten that, systems are now pc based and run faster. We were promised games that would prove to us how far technology has come.

PC elitists, would say that PC’s are more powerful than next generation systems in which they would be right. For us gamer’s this was the step into the future. Again, the hype surrounding next generation was higher than ever leaving gamer’s high for weeks.

Moving forward to what we actually received, big name games were pushed back to different time slots, each system experienced droughts and games that were in my opinion lack luster.

Games didn’t score high enough in their reviews and the door was opened to patch heaven.

Where does this leave us? It leaves us with systems and games that we can play over and over. Going deeper, it leaves us with a promise. I’ve heard from PS4 owners that though there system may not have that many games currently it will pay off in the end. Should one have to wait for the experience they were promised?  Should one person take one for the team, in this case have nothing new to play on their shiny console?  Should the promise out way the drought and or lack of complete games? Though the previous generation of systems were out a long time, I feel they could have waited to launch next generation a little while longer so each system could be complete.

Monthly system updates are something that Microsoft users have become used to in terms of Xbox One. Though these updates bring improvements some of the features should have existed day one. Sony is right behind with a massive update planned.

This brings me to my question. Is the next generation of gaming what you expected? Was the cart put out before the horse? What are your thoughts? Be sure to comment, follow and like.

My review of titan fall- Xbox one, my final verdict

.download (1)

When I first played this game in during the beta stages, I was hyped and eager to experience something new.

Titan Fall offered a Call of Duty pace and with a fresh spin on gameplay with the inclusion of mechs. My thoughts were for the better in terms of what was to come.  I did enjoy myself.

Fast forward to the current release of the game. Heads were pumped to the sky, Microsoft fan boys were out in full force toting this game as the savior of the Xbox one, though the game would be released on PC and Xbox 360.

The game seemed to be lacking in content from the start. After the first few weeks of playing the game seemed slightly boring. The hype train was real with this game, not saying that it wasn’t fun to play but it becomes a well-known traveled road after one takes the time to play.

Graphically, the game looks ok but there aren’t too many differences in the Xbox 360 version to warrant a purchase of the system as the Xbox 360 version is just as good.  I feel that the graphics could have been a bit better taking full advantage of system power. Perhaps, the engine that was used could have been updated as well.

The graphics and resolution do not take away from the fun. There’s something to be said about having a light beam from space to earth during a Titans arrival.  If I were to change one thing, I would say that the Titan Fall’s should be tied to skill level and not time. However, this would make the game seem like a COD clone.

This game was fun but I find myself waiting for the complete package. There is free downloadable content coming for the game which is a good thing as the game has gotten dry.

As the case with any game, playing with friends makes it so much better. If you don’t have the game pick it up and try it out. Its fun and full of action, just make sure you have the right people to play with or it could become a bit dry.

My review of Plants Versus Zombies:Garden Warfare for Xbox One

I know I’m late on the gravy train but I thought it would be fitting to give my personal thoughts on Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare for the Xbox One.

This game took me by surprise, it lacked the war of testosterone that I am used to in military shooters.  In my opinion this fact was a definite selling point. I’m no stranger to the Plant Versus Zombies series of games, though initially fun to me, I would become bored and stop playing all together.

So what about my thoughts you say?

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare on Xbox One is a very bright and colorful game. Seems like all the rainbows in the world have been sucked up and literally placed on your TV screen.

This game features your typical array of classes in which each team must work together to achieve a common goal. With that being to eliminate the other team.

This game offers a few modes outside of your standard team death match such as capture the flag.

Graphically, the game is very impressive with each character having their own distinct look and move set.

One thing that annoyed me however, was the slow movement of the characters but I had to remember that this was not call of duty.

The game does enough to stand out on its own but from my time playing I would also end up playing against children who were of course, better than me!

If you’re looking for a game that’s less serious with a touch of fun that demands cooperation give Plants Vs Zombies: Garden Warfare a try.  The game is available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
