What I found out………

download (1) download

I know it seems like I talk about negativity all the time on this blog but it’s something that I have been experiencing a lot lately in my life.

This in particular has come from people who have no real idea on who I am and who I aspire to be.

Yet they make every effort to criticize where I am in life.  Something’s you have control over and some you do not.

All I know is where I want to be. I might not be there currently but I will reach my goal.

I am a very positive person and chances are if you have had the chance to read my blog and or have been following me you have read my positive posts encouraging others.

I take those posts and encourage myself daily.

Onto what I found out…….

At this point in my life, I believe I have reached a season of trials. For the life of me I cannot figure out why I have to endure so much turmoil but at the end I know that it is for the best. I will continue to be myself and work towards my goal of being more successful.

I found out that people can sometimes be the meanest thing walking. You thought that pit bull you encountered while walking down the street was mean? No, try people. Some people are conniving and often try to place themselves on pedestals while stepping on you. I believe this is where the rubber meets the road in terms of replacing the negative with the positive.

I know I am being very personal with the post but I know that it will indeed help others.

Don’t get me wrong, I will not let the words of others stop me, no matter who they are where they come from. I just wanted to acknowledge and say that the world isn’t full of lamb chop and rainbow people anymore. People will do mighty damage with their tongue alone.

I said all that to say this, no matter what is said about you or what someone fails to acknowledge about you, keep being you. Make those goals and work towards them. Never give up on you, I know I’m not.

As always thanks for reading and following. I am not going to ask for comments or for you to follow this time!

The Best Game at E3

Better late than never, I just wanted to talk about my favorite game at E3. For the most part I have to say that I was impressed with Mortal Kombat X. I am a fan of the fighting genre so any game that might be a part of it sparks my attention.

Mortal Kombat X is one of the most graphic fighting games to debut so far. It’s even more graphic than the other games in the series. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the fatality trailer that I have post here. After multiple times of watching I was not sure I could get through the entire video.

Sure there were other games that made their debut at this year E3 but Mortal Kombat X left me wanting more. I couldn’t help but to also notice that the game played a bit similar to Injustice.  Since the same studio made that game I am sure some aspects would be carried over.

If you had the chance to read my E3 wishes, I mentioned that I would like to see the next Mortal Kombat game and my wish did come true.

A bit of controversy surrounded the character Cassie Cage, as it was said that her character model looked similar to the characters from Deadly Alliance. It was also said that she had a long neck and looked kind of like a man.

I think all the characters could use a bit more polish but that will come in time.

Whelp there goes my thoughts on the best game at E3.

What are your thoughts for the best game at E3 2014? Be sure to like, share comment and follow!

Zelda Wii U- A Transformation of Link?

No one can deny the beauty that surrounds the new Zelda game on Wii U. If graphics could talk, it would say “Look at me, I know you can’t look away”. Initially I was floored with the graphic fidelity that my eyes was beholding. I am impressed with what they were able to do.

The environment seemed to be full of life and animated with great detail. I for one, had no complaints with the continued use of cell- shaded graphics. Though it is a departure from the Zelda 2011 tech demo that we grew to love.

The choice to go with the cell-shaded look has definitely been a shock to others wishing for a darker and grittier Zelda.

However, one of the most controversial things that has come up has been that Link looks like a girl. Of course I don’t agree with this but we are talking about someone who used to think that Link was Zelda. Lol could you believe that? Anyway, I have come a long ways since then.

I think that Link’s appearance has changed but not to the point of where he looks like a girl. Even if he looked like a girl he would still be a lady’s man!

Perhaps Link had some plastic surgery to look younger as he has been around for a while? Who knows, but I am sure his new appearance will have no effect on his abilities in the game.

What are your thoughts on the new Zelda Wii U reveal? Does Link look like a female?

And the E3 2014 Winner Is………………………………………………….

So E3 2014 came in like a flood and with it came a ton of game announcements. Though some of my E3 wishes weren’t there such as “The Last Guardian” I came away impressed.

Microsoft came in with their gloves on ready for battle. Immediately, I noticed how the presenters were dressed down. This was a step in the right direction. It set the tone of the entire show letting us gamers know that they are gamers just like us.

I am not going to list every game and recap every little announcement as the media has been lit ablaze with people putting their own spin on things. I just wanted to give my opinion.

Having said that, I came away impressed with Microsoft, because of their in your face approach, game after game after game. There was never a dull moment. Don’t forget about all the other goodness that was shared before E3. Microsoft has now realigned itself with its competitor and made its service even better. Swallowing your pride is not an easy thing to do but it can be done.

As for Sony, I walked away kind of puzzled. I felt that they mentioned TV a couple of times which seems to suggest that they had adopted the approach of Microsoft prior E3. There were times I felt bored and a bit let down. The good stuff was all at the end as it relates to things that I was interested in. I was glad to see the gameplay video for the Mortal Kombat X game among other things. I felt that Sony should have had their gloves on to begin with. Come out swinging, don’t talk about numbers, show game play and show us why we should value the PlayStation line of products. I would say they did average.

The company who surprised me the most was Nintendo. The underdogs of the industry have somehow pushed their way back to the competition. With such announcements as Zelda Wii u, and Star Fox Wii u to name a few, they set the world on fire. I now have renewed interest in Wii U as a system and am now impressed by its graphical capabilities. Sure, it’s not on par with PS4 or Xbox One but there is no denying the pretty it can produce.

So, in my opinion the winner for E3 2014 would have to be a tie between Nintendo and Microsoft! I like all the companies and enjoy their games but I must say that I am impressed with what Nintendo brought to the table. Fans have been asking for Star Fox for the longest time and now they will be able to get it. Microsoft has repositioned itself and the Xbox One will reap the benefit of it.

For some Sony’s PS4 will always be the system of choice as it can produce the best quality out of all the systems at the moment. Sony has this going for them. However, if they can bring more exclusives out for the system it would be even better.

I really enjoyed watching E3 and one day I hope to attend. What are your thoughts about E3 2014? Where there any games that you were not expecting? Did you even watch? Did you go to E3? As always be sure to follow, comment and share.

Age Ain’t Nuthin But a Number

Excuse my plunge from normalcy as it relates to the English language, I wanted to use a bit of slang.

Now on with the program………..

Those of us who grew up with Mario or had an Atari appreciate the technological marvel that is video games today. Most of us have our own families with little gamer’s and are just about to knock at 30’s door.

We have stories to tell, like how Mario was literally half the man he is today many years ago. He often needed a ladder to reach the high platforms in order to save the princess.

This brings me to my thought, is gaming a young person’s sport? Should there be street creed if you’re a person who has been gaming for 20 years versus someone who has been gaming for a year?

Perhaps, we can teach those young gamer’s a thing or two about playing a game. Things like, always be sure to save your progress, try to play the game on your own before looking for help, adventure outside of your comfort zone of Call Of Duty or whatever your game choice might be.  You want those trophies? Work hard to earn them. Try not to use cheat codes unless it’s the last resort. It’s important to note that games today will not allow cheat codes unless one no longer wants to receive trophies and or achievement points.

The most important thing of all to remember that gaming is a hobby for which you can get paid for but until then have fun and always try your best. If you’re stuck on a part take a break from it and then try again.

What I like most about gaming is how everyone can play regardless of their age. As long as one can see and are able to understand there is a game that is waiting for them.

Keep gaming because Age Ain’t Nuthin but a Number.

What are your thoughts? Should young gamer’s or gamers who are just starting out look up to those who come before them?
