With the launch of next gen platforms Xbox One and PS4 this month, I can’t help but feel that this discussion needs to be had.
Are we really ready for Next Gen gaming? The console fan boy battle has never been stronger. As the days inch by closer and closer, information is dripped down to us as if we are being fed medicine through an IV line. The information has been eye opening such as the PS4 not playing MP3s to Xbox One’s ability to produce 1080p games.
This made me wonder, Are our next generation expectations realistic? Our we as gamer’s becoming graphic elitists until everything we see must look a certain way? What about game play? Are the consoles offering new control concepts for fun game play or will it be the same game with better graphics?
I hope that this next generation will set itself apart from the previous generation in terms of experiences. Consoles are more powerful than they have ever been and in the future will offer PC like graphics. The focus should be on the game and how the game plays. It’s just as important as looks.
What are you thoughts on next gen? Have you been following the all the information on the new systems? Do you agree with the strategies used by the companies to promote their systems? Are graphics important? Which system are you getting? PS4 or Xbox One? or the Wii U? Post, comment and be sure to participate in the pole below.
